Lisa Parker's Famous Greens

Crock Pot Smoked Turkey Greens

Serves: 6-8

Ingredients:

16 oz. bag fresh greens (such as Glory Foods)
3 cups water
1 cup chicken broth
1 lb. smoked turkey wings or desired meat
1 tsp. sugar
1 Tbsp. cider vinegar
1/8 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes
Salt and pepper, to taste

Directions:

Place water, broth, the remaining ingredients and smoked turkey wings into a Crock Pot.
Cook greens and turkey wings until tender. Six hours on low (or 4 hours on high).
Remove the turkey wings, discarding the bones and skin. Shred meat into bite-size pieces and mix in with tender greens.
Salt and pepper, to taste if desired.

*Directions for stove top:

Place water, broth and turkey wings into a large pot and bring to a boil.
Add fresh greens and stir until wilted.
Add the remaining ingredients and reduce to a slow simmer.
Cook greens and turkey wings until tender.
