ONE-ON-ONE APPOINTMENTS & OFFICE HOURS
Students can meet individually with the Director of Career Services one time each semester, and they can come to her Office Hours every Tuesday from 1:30 – 3:30 pm in the Office of Student Programming.
What to Expect
Appointments last approximately 1 hour and will take place in Sarah’s office, Suite #318 in the Office of Student Programming (unless you note that you prefer a phone appointment when you schedule).
Appointments are designed to help you move forward on your vocational journey (wherever you are), but here are some things that students often address in their appointments:
What they’re doing here at Candler and how to figure that out
Clarifying and exploring potential professional paths, including those outside of pastoral ministry
How to effectively tell their vocational stories in job search documents and beyond
How to get unstuck from choice paralysis or perfection paralysis in a job search
Identifying the most effective job search strategy for their goals
Networking and getting to know their potential professional neighborhood
How to design their experience at Candler to move them forward in their callings
How to Prepare
Since you only have one individual appointment each semester, you will want to be prepared. Here are some additional things to think about before your appointment:
At least 24 hours in advance of your appointment, please email Sarah (email@example.com) a copy of your resume/CV.
Even if you’ve already had your one-on-one appointment, don’t worry, you can still ask your career questions during office hours. Just come on in to the Office of Student Programming on Tuesdays, 1:30 – 3:30 pm.
